SDEM project
(ABID Group is proud to have played a key role in the Sfax Seawater Desalination Project, one of Tunisia’s most important water infrastructure achievements, delivered in partnership with Orascom, Metito, and Cobra.
ABID Group was responsible for a wide range of engineering, supply, fabrication, and on-site installation works, covering both mechanical and structural scopes. Our contributions included administration camp facilities, hangars, platforms, skids, tanks, pipelines, electrical installations, and site infrastructure. Key works involved the fabrication and installation of RO and PX skids, product water tanks, intake tower lifting equipment, grounding systems, dosing and CIP platforms, electrical panels with raised floors, and high-voltage area structures.
Additional activities included pipe painting, welding works, ladders, fencing, cladding, station doors, sand traps, air vents, polyamide flanges, and various on-site installations critical to plant operation and safety. The project progressed from the first seawater intake to the successful production of the first desalinated water, symbolizing the completion of a complex and high-impact industrial journey.
